Mr. Taleb Rifai (Generalsekretär a.i., Welt-Tourismus-Organisation – UNWTO) sprach in seiner Eröffnungsrede davon, dass man heutzutage kein Krisenmanagement, sondern ein Management der Möglichkeiten betreiben sollte.

Und genau diese Einstellung konnte man an jedem Stand der diesjährigen ITB bemerken. Natürlich war es ein bisschen ruhiger, zurückhaltender als in den letzten Jahren. Doch die Freude der Menschen am Reisen zu bekannten und unbekannten Orten stellte sich gegen jede Wirtschaftskrise.

So konnte ich vielerlei interessante Menschen kennenlernen und gute Gespräche führen.

In his opening speech Mr. Taleb Rifai (Secretary General a.i., World Tourism Organization – UNWTO) mentioned that with regards to the recent global financial situation there should be a management of possibilities instead of a management of crisis.

And exactly this attitude was revealed on the ITB in Berlin. Of course it was a bit more quiet, a bit more low-key than in the past years. But the travel spirit was still up and rising and people were eager to learn more about known and unknown destinations of the world in order to counter the present problems.

Exactly that was the reason why I was able to meet interesting people and talk about their projects.
