Das Hotel liegt außerhalb des Stadtzentrums von Osaka und könnte als Hotel für Geschäftsreisende bezeichnet werden. Es gehört zum sog. Cosmosquare, der Teil des Technoports von Osaka ist. Das Hotel liegt neben dem Messegelände Intex Osaka und dem Asia and Pacific Trade Center. Außerdem ist es direkt verbunden mit dem World Trade Center. Vom Hotel aus hat man einen spektakulären Blick auf die Bucht von Osaka und die Skyline der Stadt.

Sobald man am internationalen Flughafen von Osaka, dem Kansai International Airport, ankommt, kauft man sich am besten ein Ticket in der Ankunftshalle. Die Bushaltestelle befindet sich direkt am Ausgang. Und je nach Straßenverkehr dauert die Fahrt zum Hotel nur eine halbe Stunde. Der Bus hält genau vor dem Hotel.

Wenn man am frühen Morgen im Hotel eintrifft, kann es vorkommen, dass das gebuchte Zimmer noch nicht vorbereitet ist. Daher wurde ich gebeten, noch ein wenig Geduld zu haben. Doch es dauerte nicht lange, da konnte ich die Anmeldeformalitäten erledigen und das Zimmer 2007 im 20. Stock beziehen. Es war ein Doppelzimmer mit Blick auf die schöne Bucht.

Das Zimmer war geräumig mit zwei Betten und einem schönen, großen Badezimmer mit Dusche und Badewanne. Ein wenig Staub lag auf der Ablage, doch dieser wurde an einem der nächsten Tagen entfernt.

Es war ein sehr komfortables und schönes Zimmer mit viel Ablagefläche, Minibar, einem Teekocher mit Tee und Kaffee sowie schönem Porzellan im japanischen Stil. Kimonos sowie flauschige Bademäntel standen ebenfalls zur Verfügung. Ein Safe befand sich im Kleiderschrank, jedoch ohne Bedienungsanleitung.

Die Betten waren bequem, die Bettwäsche schön und angenehm. Hin und wieder stand ein Obstkorb mit Besteck und Tellerchen auf dem Tisch.

Entgegen vieler Stimmen, die ich im Internet gelesen habe, war die Einrichtung modern und angenehm.

Bei einer Hotelbesichtigung konnte ich mir –außer der Präsidentensuite, die gerade renoviert wurde- alle Zimmerkategorien anschauen. Egal, ob es sich um ein Standarddoppelzimmer oder um die Diplomatensuite handelte: Alle Zimmer waren mit der gleichen Sorgfalt eingerichtet und dekoriert worden. Überall war es sauber und jedes Zimmer lud zum Verweilen ein. Das Hotel bietet auch die Buchung einer Tatamisuite an. Diese Suite ist im japanischen Stil eingerichtet und bietet Gästen einen ganz speziellen Komfort. Hier schläft man nicht in gewohnten Betten, sondern auf Futons.

Das Haus besitzt mehrere Restaurants, die unterschiedliche Küche anbieten. Sucht man das ganz Besondere für einen speziellen Abend, sollte man sich einen Tisch im Restaurant The Bay Lounge reservieren. Im 28. Stock des Hotels hat man einen atemberaubenden Blick über die nächtliche Stadt.

Bevor man sich zu Exkursionen in die Umgebung begibt (das Hotel bietet einen kostenfreien Shuttle zum zentralen Bahnhof Osaka an), sollte man im Hotel frühstücken. Das Buffet bietet eine sehr große Auswahl an kalten und warmen Speisen, sowohl internationaler als auch japanischer Küche. Frische Früchte fehlen ebenso wenig wie unterschiedliche Brotsorten. Der Koch bereitet das Frühstücksei genau nach Wunsch zu.

Das Hotel besitzt einen Fitness- und Spabereich. Außerdem ein Hallenbad, in dem man mühelos morgens seine Bahnen schwimmen kann. Allerdings stört die Geräuschkulisse der Klimaanlage etwas. Auch der Jaccuzzi in diesem Bereich ist sehr laut. Dusch- und Umkleidebereiche sind großzügig dimensioniert und fast schon penibel sauber gehalten.

Allerdings hätte ich mir eine Beschilderung gewünscht, damit ich nicht so lange nach den Duschräumen hätte suchen müssen.

Ich habe eine Spaanwendung gebucht. In einer schönen und ruhigen Atmosphäre fand sie statt. Die Masseurin war gut ausgebildet und sensibel. Es war ein schönes Erlebnis und ist absolut weiterzuempfehlen.

Alle Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter waren ausgesucht freundlich und hilfsbereit. Egal, welche Fragen ich stellte, man half mir weiter. Ich habe mich in diesem Haus sehr wohlgefühlt und werde dorthin gerne zurückkehren, wenn mich meine Reisen wieder nach Osaka führen.

The hotel is not centrally located and could be called a business hotel. It is part of Cosmosquare, which is located in Technoport Osaka. The hotel is right next to Intex Osaka and the Asia and Pacific Trade Center. There is a direct connection to the World Trade Center as well. From the hotel you can enjoy spectacular views of the bay as well as of the skyline.

Once you arrive at Osaka´s Kansai International Airport you just go outside and find the bus stop for the shuttle to the hotel right in front of the arrival section. Just buy a ticket and hop on the bus. The shuttle takes you to the hotel in about half an hour depending on the traffic. The bus stops right at the entrance of the hotel.

If you arrive at the hotel in the morning, your room might not be ready yet. This was the reason why I have been asked to just wait a while. But it did not take very long. I was able to check in and get to my room 2007 on the 20th floor. It was a double room with view of the bay.

The room was spacious with two beds and a nice and large bathroom with shower and bath tub. The little glass shelf was a bit dusty, but at one of the next days it was cleaned.

It was a very comfortable and nice room with lots of storage room, mini bar, tea kettle with tea and coffee and beautiful japanese dishes. Kimonos as well as fluffy bath robes were waiting in the wardrobe. There was a safe in the wardrobe as well, but without a manual.

The beds were comfortable, the sheets nice and cozy. Once in a while there was a fruit basket waiting in the room.

Contrary to what I read on the internet before the interior design was modern and very comfortable.

During the site inspection I was able to see all different kinds of rooms (except for the presidential suite, which was under renovation). It does not matter if I entered the standard double room or the diplomat suite: Each room was designed and furnished with just the same great care. It was clean everywhere and each room just invited you to relax and enjoy the setting. The Tatami Suite can be booked if you want to enjoy your stay japanese style. Instead of sleeping in a regular bed you rest on futons.

The hotel offers different cuisine in the different restaurants. If you are looking for a really special dinner, you should make a reservation at The Bay Lounge. This is the restaurant high up on the 28th floor with an amazing view of the city.

Before you get ready for your daily excursions (e.g. the hotel provides a shuttle free of charge on a regular daily basis to Osaka´s main train station) make sure you have breakfast at the hotel. The buffet had a grand selection of cold and hot breakfast items, international as well as japanese style. You find fresh fruits as well as different bread. And the chef makes sure that you get your egg done as you wish.

The hotel offers a fitness area and a spa, as well as an indoor pool, where you can do your laps in the morning. When I was there unfortunately the noise of the air condition and the jaccuzzi was very disturbing.

Shower and changing rooms were quite comfortably large and absolutely clean.

Unfortunately I almost got lost because there were no signs for the shower area, which was quite hidden.

I also booked a spa treatment, which was very nice and very relaxing. My compliments to the lady who carried out the treatment. She was very skilled and sensible. I really enjoyed the treatment and can absolutely recommend a reservation.

The entire staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. It did not matter, which question I had: everybody was just eager to help. I felt very well and very comfortable at this hotel and would like to return as soon as my schedules will allow this.
