Ich nutzte die Gelegenheit zu einer kurzfristigen Besichtigung des Wynn Las Vegas.

Hatte der U.S. Senator Harry Reid gesagt, Steve Wynn habe seine Träume zu Kunst werden lassen und Las Vegas sei seine Leinwand, so war dies für mich einer der Auslöser, dieser Behauptung nachzugehen und zu sehen, um welches Kunstwerk es sich beim Wynn Las Vegas handeln würde.

Das Wynn Las Vegas wurde im April 2005 als eines der großen Luxushotels am legendären Strip eröffnet.

Seinen Gästen bietet es ca. 2700 Zimmer und Suiten, sowie ein mehr als 10.000 Quadratmeter großes Kasino. Außerdem einen Golfplatz sowie unzählige Restaurants und Bars.

Eine große Ausstellungsfläche mit den schönsten Ferrari- und Maserati-Modellen sowie die Wynn Esplanade mit den namhaften Designern der Welt ziehen solvente Kunden in ihren Bann.

Doch all dies sind lediglich Fakten.

Lässt man sich wirklich auf das Wynn Las Vegas ein, mit Herz und Verstand, erlebt man eines der großartigen Hotels der Welt.

Sicherlich bezeichnen viele Besucher das Hotel als prunkvoll, als bunt, als Spiegel der Dekadenz.

Aber in meinen Augen ist es irgendwie anders. Ruhig. Dezent. Einfach luxuriös.

Schon wenn man das Hotel vom Strip aus betritt, fühlt man sich, als sei man gerade einer Zeitmaschine entstiegen, die sich mit Lichtgeschwindigkeit vom hektischen Treiben des Strip entfernt und einen Landeplatz in der Ruhe angesteuert hat. Die Wynn Esplanade lädt zum Einkaufen ein, ruhig und erhaben, als spiele die Zeit hier auf dem Planeten Wynn keine Rolle mehr. In den Geschäften wird man freundlich begrüßt und hat die Möglichkeit, das unglaubliche Angebot zu genießen.

Geht man weiter in Richtung Rezeption, durchquert man eine reizende, kleine Gartenanlage, deren Bäume und Sträucher mit vielen Lichtern übersät sind und miteinander um die Wette strahlen.

Selbst im Casino scheint eine andere Zeitrechnung zu gelten. Obwohl die jeweiligen Spieltische und Automaten besetzt sind, wird man nicht von lautem Gerassel einarmiger Banditen oder sonstiger Geräte irritiert. Man kann sich in normaler Lautstärke unterhalten und das Flair des Casinos genießen.

Leider herrscht –wie überall in Las Vegas- auch in diesem Casino Raucherlaubnis. Allerdings wurde eine scheinbar außerordentliche Klimaanlage installiert, die die Rauchbelästigung reduziert.

Auch auf dem Weg zur Poolanlage fällt wieder auf, wie liebevoll das Hotel eingerichtet ist, denn überall sieht man Kunstgegenstände wie Gemälde, Skulpturen etc., die aus aller Welt zusammengetragen wurden. Eine außergewöhnliche Sammlung, die zur Schönheit und zum Charme des Hauses beiträgt.

Die große Poolanlage ist perfekt in den Garten integriert. Weitläufig, sauber und sehr stilvoll.

Möchte man seine Seele baumeln lassen, bucht man eine Spa-Behandlung oder vereinbart einen Termin im Schönheitssalon. Im modernen Fitnesscenter trainiert man an den besten Geräten. Der atemberaubende 18-Loch Golfplatz liegt direkt vor der Türe.

Das Hotel bietet noch so viel mehr: Nightclubs, Restaurants, Bars (insbesondere Parasol Up / Parasol Down) – in stilvollem Ambiente. Man muss also das Hotel nicht verlassen, um die perfekten Tage zu genießen.

Entschließt sich der Gast nun, seinen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel zu buchen, hat er die Qual der Wahl, denn es stehen ihm folgende Möglichkeiten zur Verfügung:

Je nach Buchungskategorie gibt es unterschiedliche Möglichkeiten des Eincheckens. Gäste, die ein Resortzimmer gebucht haben, checken an der spektakulären und geräumigen Rezeption ein, die unmittelbar neben dem Casino liegt.

Ein weiterer, etwas kleinerer, aber nicht minder aufwendig gestalteter Bereich steht den Gästen der Suiten zu Verfügung.

Außerdem besitzt das Hotel noch einen weiteren Eingang, durch den VIP-Gäste das Hotel betreten.

Eine beachtliche Flotte von Fahrzeugen der Marke Rolls Royce steht für Transfers und alle weiteren Fahrten zur Verfügung.

Während der Besichtigung hatte ich die Möglichkeit, mir eine Parlor Suite (Nr. 1606- ca. 120 qm) und eine Salon Suite (1603 – ca. 170 qm) anzusehen. Ein Resortzimmer war zu diesem Zeitpunkt zur Besichtigung leider nicht verfügbar.

Beide Suiten sind sehr geräumig und sehr luxuriös ausgestattet, die Parlor Suite sogar mit Grünpflanzen. Die Fenster reichen jeweils von Wand zu Wand und von der Decke bis zum Boden, sodass man einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Umgebung hat. Große moderne Fernsehgeräte und Musikanlagen, sowie exklusive Einrichtungsgegenstände schaffen ein wohnliches Ambiente. Das Schlafzimmer lädt zum Träumen ein. Die Salon Suite hat zusätzlich noch einen Raum, in dem ein Massagetisch steht, damit man auch in der Abgeschiedenheit seiner Suite diesen Service nutzen kann.

Sucht man nach dem perfekten Abschluss eines wunderbaren Tages im Wynn, gibt es mindestens zwei atemberaubende Möglichkeiten:

Sobald die Sonne untergeht, versammeln sich die Gäste am Lake of Dreams, wo ein ca. 12 Meter hoher Wasserfall, eingebettet in eine schon fast surreal anmutende Multimediashow mit pulsierender Musik und Lichteffekte, sie in ihren Bann zieht.

Le Rêve – Der Traum. Auf den ersten Blick wirkt das Theater an sich wie ein ganz normales Theater. Nur rund. Wenn man aber genauer hinschaut, sieht man, dass die Bühne nicht wirklich ganz normal ist. Und nimmt man dann die Gelegenheit wahr, sich die Show anzusehen, hat man keine andere Wahl, als sich dem Traum zu stellen, der auf dieser Bühne wahr wird. Ein ungewöhnlicher Traum, ein faszinierender Traum, in dem das Wasser eine Hauptrolle spielt. Das Wasser und die Artisten. Das Wasser und die Musik. Der Schöpfer von Le Rêve, Franco Dragone, sagte: „Le Rêve bedeutet *Der Traum* und mein Ziel ist es, ein ganz neues Universum zu erschaffen, um die Zuschauer in eine einzigartige Welt zu entführen, in der das Theater, die Aufführung und der Zuschauer selbst zu einer einzigen Realität werden. Ich möchte Sie auf eine magische und heilige Reise mitnehmen, die Ihre Gefühle so berührt, wie es noch nie vorher geschah.“

Es war die beste Live-Show, die ich bislang gesehen habe.

Angeregt durch die Besichtigung des Hotels testete ich am nächsten Morgen das Frühstück im Restaurant The Buffet. Da der Preis recht hoch angesetzt war, stiegen meine Erwartungen natürlich entsprechend. Das Ambiente des Eingangsbereiches und die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiterinnen an der Kasse waren superb, die Platzierung anschließend aber recht unglücklich. Ich wunderte mich, dass die Gäste an unmittelbar nebeneinander stehenden Tischen gesetzt wurden. Die Räumlichkeit war nämlich so großzügig, dass man dies hätte anders arrangieren können, auch um ein wenig mehr die Privatsphäre der einzelnen Gäste zu respektieren.

Auch hätte ich mir gewünscht, dass die sehr resoluten und sehr ernsten Damen und Herren, die die jeweiligen Bestellungen aufnahmen, genauso freundlich gewesen wären, wie die Mitarbeiter, die mir während der Besichtigung oder an diesem Morgen begegneten. Ich kam mir regelrecht aufdringlich vor, als ich zum dritten Mal um ein Glas Orangensaft und Kaffee bitten musste.

Die Buffetauswahl und deren Qualität waren sehr gut und dem Preis entsprechend.

Wenn ich das Wynn Las Vegas nun mit etwas Abstand betrachte, gehört es für mich zu den besten Hotels und steht bereits auf der Liste der Hotels, in denen ich übernachten möchte. –  Und ja, jetzt kann ich die Worte von Harry Reid nachvollziehen. Das Wynn Las Vegas, von außen imposant, aber schlicht  und edel . . . von innen: etwas Besonderes ! Ein Kunstwerk.

I seized the opportunity for a short noticed site inspection of the Wynn Las Vegas.

U.S. Senator Harry Reid said “Steve Wynn […] turns his dreams into works of art. Las Vegas is his canvas.” And I took these words to see for myself the artwork which has been called the Wynn Las Vegas, opening in April 2005 as one of the major luxurious hotels on the Strip of Las Vegas.

It provides its guests with about 2700 rooms and suites, as well as a casino with more than 111.000 square feet. The guests can enjoy a golf course and numerous restaurants and bars.

The ample show room -with a display of the luxurious Ferrari and Maserati cars- as well as the Wynn Esplanade -with world-renowned designers- captivate the solvent patronage.

But all these are merely facts.

If you let yourself fall for the Wynn Las Vegas –with your heart and soul– you will be able to experience one of the really grand hotels of the world.

Of course some visitors call the Wynn pompous, gaudy, a mirror of decadence.

But in my eyes it is somehow different. Easeful. Unobtrusive. Just luxurious.

As soon as you enter the hotel from The Strip you feel like stepping out of a time machine, which has transported you from the hectic noises of The Strip to a landing of quietness with the speed of light. The Wynn Esplanade invites you to encounter the different stores and boutiques, serene and lofty, as time would not count anymore on the stellar system Wynn. Patrons are greeted very cordially and can take their time to browse through the amazing range of products.

If you continue further towards the front desk, you walk through a charming little garden alley, where trees and bushes are spangled with little lights, one beaming brighter than the other.

Also at the casino itself another calculation of time seems to take place. Although tables and slot machines might be occupied, there is no irritating noise like in other big casinos. You can easily talk to your company in a moderate volume and enjoy the flair of the casino.

Unfortunately –like about everywhere in Las Vegas– smoking is allowed here as well. But there must be a very good air conditioning, which reduces the smoke nuisance.

Walking around the hotel and towards the pools, you recognize how lovingly the entire hotel has been decorated and set. You find precious artwork like paintings, sculptures and more, brought together from all over the world. The extraordinary collection adds to the beauty and charm of the hotel.

The pools blend perfectly into the gardens. Extensive, neat and very stylish.

If you want to soothe your soul, just book your personalized spa treatment or make an appointment at The Salon. At the Fitness Center you find a variety of state-of-the-art equipment. The breathtaking 18-hole golf course is right outside the back door.

But the hotel offers so much more: nightclubs, restaurants, bars (especially the Parasol Up and Parasol Down) – all in stylish ambience. You don´t really need to leave the hotel to spend the perfect days.

When the guest decides to stay at the hotel he will be spoilt for choice of accommodation:

Depending on the category of accommodation there are different possibilities of checking in. Guests, who booked a Resort room will check in at the spectacular and vast front desk next to the casino.

Staying in one of the suites you will check in at a more secluded desk.

Another entrance is available for Villa guests and VIPs.

A considerable fleet of Rolls Royce vehicles is available as well.

During my site inspection I took the chance to view a Parlor Suites (No. 1606 – about 1.280 square feet) and a Salon Suite (No. 1603 – about 1.816 square feet). Unfortunately a Resort Room was not available for inspection at that time.

Both suites are very spacious and luxuriously appointed. I was astonished to find real plants in the Parlor Suite as well. The windows reach from wall to wall and floor to ceiling, so you can enjoy the perfect view. Large-scale and modern TV and entertainment systems as well as exclusive pieces of furniture create a comfortable ambience. The bedroom invites you to just relax and dream the night away. The Salon Suite features an additional private massage room, so you can enjoy this service in the privacy of your room as well.

If you want to close your day in the most perfect way, there are at least two breathtaking opportunities:

As soon as the sun sets guests are gathering at the Lake of Dreams: where a waterfall -dropping 40 feet into a lake and accentuated by an almost surreal multimedia presentation and pulsating music and light displays- will fascinate the audience.

Le Rêve – The Dream. At first sight the theater seems to be quite regular. Only circular. But if you take a closer look you will encounter a not so regular stage. And if you decide to visit the show there is no way out . . . no way out of the dream which is going to take place on this stage right before you. An exceptional dream. A fascinating dream, in which the water is going to play one of the leading roles. The water and the artists. The water and the music. The creator of Le Rêve, Franco Dragone, said: “Le Rêve means the dream, and my aim is to create an entirely new universe, to transport the spectators into a unique world where the theater, performance and audience become one and the same reality. To take you on a magical, sacred journey that touches your emotions in a way that is different to anything I have done before.”

This has been the best live performance I have ever seen before.

Inspired by the site inspection I decided to try the breakfast at The Buffet the next morning. As the price was above average I set my expectations high. The ambience of the foyer as well as the friendliness of the cashier ladies were superbly, the seating then unfortunately quite inappropriate. I wondered why the guests were seated almost table by table and row by row and really next to each other, when the large rooms were spacious enough to seat everybody differently in order to respect the privacy of the guests accordingly.

I also would have wished for the ladies and gentlemen who worked at the tables to be a bit more friendly. Just like the employees I met during the Site Inspection and such. I felt being really intrusive when I had to ask for orange juice and coffee three times in order to get it once.

The selection and the quality of the buffet were very good and adequate compared to the price.

Reflecting now about the Wynn Las Vegas I really find it belongs to the best and I will add it to the list of hotels I am looking forward to staying at one day. – And yes, now I can really comprehend Harry Reid´s words. The Wynn Las Vegas: the exterior impressive, but simply luxurious – the interior: something special and -yes- definitely a work of art!
